Classroom Support
|
Our classrooms are the primary places where we educate our students. The state
of our classrooms--their configuration, condition, and equipment--greatly affects
faculty teaching performance as well as the attitudes and enthusiasm of faculty
and students. The classroom support project is designed to create a critically
needed system for the maintenance and support of the University's lecture halls
and general purpose classrooms. It supports the substantial investment that
the university has made in upgrading its teaching facilities with state of the
art instructional technology. The goals of the classroom project are:
- To enhance student learning.
- To provide oversight and coordination of the maintenance and support of the University's lecture hall and general
purpose classrooms.
- To provide preventative maintenance, repairs and support of the University's lecture halls and general purpose
classrooms, as well as the equipment installed and provided for those rooms.
- To provide ample technology and technical support to advance the use of
technology in the classroom.
- To support and stimulate faculty use and development of instructional approaches that take advantage of
instructional technology.
- To test and evaluate several models for local and campus coordination of classroom support in order to help
optimize future planning.
- To provide a mechanism for faculty input and feedback in determining classroom
needs, as well as rapid responses to faculty concerns and problems.
